moving images: documenting COVID-19
Moving Images teaches the fundamentals of digital video production, including camera and composition skills, the role of sound, lighting and continuity and montage editing in narrative and documentary style. Since 2015 we have collaborated with the Museum of Vancouver to create documentary and experimental video for exhibitions such as All Together Now, Wild Things, City on Edge, and Haida Now.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, as all university courses shifted online, Moving Images was redeveloped for remote filmmaking. We partnered with curator Viviane Gosselin to develop short documentaries as a part of the online #isolatingtogetherMOV project and the MOV exhibition Real-Time Collecting: Documenting and Preserving Covid-19.
